Goathland train station is used as Hogwarts train station and is used on the freshers arrival and during the last scenes of Harry Potter and the Philosophers Stone, where Hagrid bids Harry a fond farewell. It was said that the girls toilet which is situated across the bridge on the opposite platform was used as a backlot for the prefects room, however this I can not clarify. Bear in mind if you travel up to the north east by car there is a pay and display car park adjacent to the station.

The train station is often seen in the UK TV series Heartbeat, if you like tea and scones you may want to drive a mile north along North York Moors and you will find other front lots such Aidensfield Stores, Bernie Scripps’ Garage, Aidensfield Arms and the village green.
